We walked into Port Erin from Shee Dy Vea, passing some shops which had shut up shop, and also a Chinese takeaway to note down. Came to where the steam train goes from, its puffing may explain a cloud of smoke I saw earlier. Got supplies at a Co-op in the high street (including cereals so I don't repeat the eruption of porridge I got in the microwave for breakfast). We then walked round the front seeing the Bay Hotel which we may try another day as well as a pizza place which hopefully will deliver later.

Virginia found some of the slopes too steep so we retreated the way we had come back to our holiday cottage for cheese and white bread sandwiches. After lunch we went out to Cregneash, an old crofting village preserved for the Manx heritage. A slice of times gone by. Very pretty scenery, and we saw a Manx cat (an unusually fluffy and grey one) too! Had chocolate and slices of cake at the cafe there. Through the Church window a red telephone box could be seen. Church Farm was more comfortable than the crofting cottages.

(If anyone goes there by the way I think I lost a scarf there, a light grey effort.)

Had fun where we returned trying to get the key safe open again - it just didn't want to surrender its contents. Virginia eventually overcame it but no more leaving the key in there!

Ordered pizzas from La Gusto Pizza and very good they were too, coming nice and hot and early. Couldn't persuade the dishwasher to do its stuff so washed up by hand.
