More tender catching, this time from Villefranche to Nice to begin with. Coach up to a garden with a view over Nice then back down for the Land Train ride round 'interesting' parts of Nice. What made it even more interesting was that the headsets on our first train conked out (never happened before we were told), and the train stopped in a very smelly street blocking traffic. We eventually returned back to the start for another go on a different Land Train which worked - albeit with a lot of deja vu!
We then had a long march to find public toilets in Nice - not the most fascinating, and Virginia and I got one or two things in a souvenir shop. Our guide may have been having an off day but twice she carried blithely on losing some of her followers.
The coach took us back to Villefranche not Nice, a long walk to the docks where this time I accepted the squash and cold towels the staff offered. A kind gesture. Just in time for lunch and I had a stir fry cooked in front of me. The afternoon quiz had a question what state is Florida in.
We sat with Susan (her husband James Steve went to the Grand Prix) at table 79 for supper.
