One of the ‘courses’ I do with the U3A is rambling every other week during the terms. My rambling course is social and easy - we only do around 5 miles each time, starting at a pub where we return to for lunch.
Pubs suffered during Covid, and there aren’t as many pubs catering for walking groups as there were. But La Pergola is one, with ample parking. Very organized - they took drink orders and had the drinks ready on the bar when we got back, and the food we ordered was being served before we were all sitting down!
The walks can be muddy (this one was) but there’s varied scenery, interesting buildings, and pleasant villages to be seen. Good exercise with good company! Just need to clean the boots afterwards.
