The Majestic Princess was an impressive ship to cruise on. You get a medallion key which opens your cabin door when you’re within a few metres of it (confusing at first) and also identifies you not only when leaving and entering the ship, but also all around the ship. To survive on the ship you need the Princess App which allows you to book stuff and check what’s on the ship. This app also lets you see where on the ship your cabin-mates might be. Eerie.

The staff on the ship were first-rate I thought. Friendly and made an effort to remember you. My fellow passengers were mostly American and okay - apart from a tall elderly MAGA type who openly called people with a Far Eastern ancestry ‘munchkins’. There seemed to be a dental conference going onboard but each to their own.

The food was generally fine, I felt the orange juice was more flavoured coloured water, milk to pour on cereals came in tumblers which made life challenging. I love crispy bacon.

We did a lot of quizzes, there was an American bias to some of them but Princess Cruises probably have mostly American passengers. There were questions with an English bias too.

On sea days hard to find anywhere just to sit. Many areas very noisy. The USB sockets in our cabin didn’t work so thankfully I had brought an adapter along. Bottles of water freely available and I didn’t seem to pay for the ice cream cones I enjoyed either.
