Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park

Slightly sneezy to start with. We drove along my bane of single track roads again - very stressful as around every corner you may meet something and have to backup. We got fuel and milk at a Spar cum fuel station, I like to keep the car half full. On the technical front Google Maps kept playing up on my iPhone, it kept insisting we were at home in Histon!

Virginia and I first saw Felbrigg Hall for tourism today. The ancient varieties of fruit trees crucified against the brick in the walled gardens echoed the pictures of ancient faces hung in the hall itself. Everything felt like trapped in time. We couldn't remember being there before, perhaps we hadn't. (We had in fact in 2005). I saw in one room a set of Squails, not a game I had ever come across before! One lives and learns.

We also had more than enough exercise walking through the woods at Sheringham Park. The woods in themselves were calming, ancient yet new, aging yet naturally renewed. Not too many people around. Or dogs for that matter. The National Trust seem to be rating everything on how dog friendly it is, good to be inclusive and not xenophobic.

We parked for free in the Meadow Street carpark at 6pm and had a meal at Le Moon Chinese restaurant. Good vibes, had to ask for chopsticks. A woman there was having chips - if I go to a Chinese restaurant it's to eat Chinese but each to their own. We had Set Meal F. The one way streets in Cromer almost defeated us leaving.
