It was a mad dash this morning to get to Church as New Zealand went into daylight saving last night and I had forgotten! One less hour to not get up!

Church was a very full joint service at Blockhouse Bay Community Church which is part of an Alliance grouping. Some fun when Bruce and Vicky went up to collect some presentos and I got bounced out of our seats wrongly. Multiple languages in evidence, the first verse of their National Anthem was in Maori, someone prayed in Vietnamese, the sermon was translated into Mandarin Chinese. I could understand a little of the translation.

Different churches do communion differently. Here we all went to the front and collected small cups of cranberry coloured liquid along with a sliver of bread, and then had them together when everyone was ready.

The busy day continued with Eden's first birthday party. As Eden is part Korean he got to enjoy a Korean tradition where different objects are placed in front of a toddler, and which one he chooses determines his future career. Eden chose a kitchen utensil so he's now bound for a life as a chef.

At the 126 Church this evening after a burger based shared meal I learnt how to play the bunco dice game. Can be quite frenetic if you try to roll the dice as often as the laws of physics allows.
