Ichiran

I had a bowl of ramen for lunch at Ichiran. You descend stairs to queue, order at a kiosk that understands English, then customise your ramen from a paper tick list. The places are single places so easier if you’re by yourself.

The staff were helpful for foreigners like me. Curtains hang giving the impression of an old wooden building even though we’re in a concrete basement. After you sit at a booth someone takes your bits of paper, the curtain goes down, a little while later a generous bowl appears.
