I got to coach stop 2 at Kawaguchi-Ko station in too good time, courtesy of the hotel shuttle from the Fuji Lake Hotel. If I had been sensible I could have had a bite for breakfast. I worry too much about time at times.

The coach threaded through several tunnels, the sun was strong and low. I was glad we weren’t on the other side of the Expressway as that had long long tailbacks.

Once again I faced the horror (for me) of navigating through busy Japan, this time Tokyo Station was the maze. Got to Shimbashi on the Yamanote Line, and tried to navigate to the Park Hotel. Google Maps was not useful as the elevated walkways turn getting around into a 3D problem not a 2D one. More fun as it was then I discovered there are two Park Hotels in the area very close together. I tried the wrong one first.

The Park Hotel is a triangular building with an open atrium. Helpful staff again as I found at all the places I visited. Very arty but some of the art I didn’t find artistic. I was able to check in early again. The large windows in my room 3010 had venetian blinds. The toilet was manually flushed which I prefer, but a different design to others I had encountered.

Shame! The nearby Ghibli Clock was being maintained the day I was there!

I spent a good time in Hamarikyu Gardens a splendid park. You could ride a mock horse or do archery besides have matcha and mochi at the tea house as I did. A solace for the soul.
