Another missed breakfast as I left the Park Hotel at 6am to get to Haneda Airport. I couldn’t find my comb so in desperation I tried a bamboo toothbrush the hotel provided. I did afterwards spot they also provided a bamboo hairbrush which worked a lot better.
I had forgotten “sayonara” for goodbye until another exiting Brit guest (who rudely dashed in front of me) said it. Too early to Haneda, waited to drop baggage off, plenty of time for having a bowl of udon and to do some souvenir shopping.
Fourteen hours plus on a plane is a long time. At one point the pilot announced Northern Lights were visible. Oh yes I saw a faint blur once on a cruise ship, I’m still waiting for the green coronas to show up.
We did eventually land. Baggage took a good two hours to appear. The Heathrow Express was not so express, and I missed the first coach home.
An end of a holiday is always an anti-climax, a let down. Like being dunked in cold water is returning to Britain.
