Getting to Surrey
Monday, 8th September 2025

Jasper was safely stowed at the Cozy Pets Boutique Hotel, this time I had to carry the crate containing him past many other feline ‘prisoners’ there. We got some de-ionised water at GSF to top up one of the coolant containers in the Kia car. The pinkish liquid was on the minimum level but it didn’t need much to get it back up to halfway.

A fairly easy drive down to the Farnham area, we stopped at a Sainsbury’s for supplies including a Chinese meal for two (what we normally have on these weeks away on the first night. Also refueled there which was a little embarrassing - I was wearing my sunglasses and the polarisation meant I couldn’t read the pump displays! A voice helpfully suggested I put the nozzle into the car!

There followed a nightmare journey from Sainsbury’s to Reed’s Farm House. I find travelling around busy areas taking wrong turnings and getting stuck in massive tailbacks less than fun. More stressful than flying in some ways.

Our home from home for seven nights is quite spacious and only minutes from a hostelry. It is truly on a farm we overlook a green field, and a tractor sits in the driveway in. A spacious place it feels almost deserted with only two of us in there! The bathroom doesn’t have a place for towels. The key is hard to turn from inside.
