We went to
The Himalayan Gardens
which is hidden away in a secret valley. A pleasantly
forested area with pools at the bottom, with sculptures
secreted around. The sculptures sometimes seemed to reflect
what they were called. There were a lot of people walking
dogs there perhaps because other places aren’t so canine
friendly. It was drizzling while we were there, slightly
slippery, we didn’t spend long before we headed back to
the comfortable cafe for jacket potato and panini and
hot chocolate and black coffee for lunch.
Our attempt to see the Swinton Druid Temple foundered when the road became a dirt track and we weren’t in a 4x4 drive off road vehicle. A shame but we inspected the Co-op in Leyburn instead on the way back.
In the evening we both had the pie of the day at the
Aysgarth Falls Hotel
and a glass of wine. Lovely view over the valley from
the Palmers Restaurant save it was raining and it was dusk.
I could see the rain cascading off a tree which stood
still, it proved to be an artificial tree in a decorative
pond. There was space to park though backing out of where
we parked was touch and go.
