We drove all the way to
Penrhyn Castle,
could have used a map but we just missed the last one.
The castle itself looks like something out of Minecraft
with its squareness imposed on a rural landscape, we first
saw a sweet walled garden infiltrated by giant rhubarb,
what a horrid idea.
Had lunch in the castle cafe, I went for a Welsh rabbit or
rarebit if you prefer, then we saw what remained of an
industrial train museum (not a lot) before heading off to
an
osprey
reserve. We did see through the powerful monoscopes a head
peering over the top of a nest, donated a little, had
a salted caramel tub each, but in terms of seeing the
ospreys staying at home and watching the good
live stream
would have been better.
Dined at the Yr Hen Fecws which was cosy and comfortable and cultured.
